It is a version for 4 pianos of the original version for clarinet, trumpet, violin, cello, piano duet and percussion.

The famous Ode to Joy theme is preceeded by an introduction and followed by 9 variations (4 are novel, 5 are arranged from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony).
